Guiding Your Next Step!
Guiding Your Next Step!
Bright Minds Consulting creates partnerships between families in special education and their child’s learning environments.
Families and school staff will get the expertise they are looking for, the satisfaction of committed involvement in the child’s learning experience, and the professional guidance they need.
Edith offers a 30-minute phone consultation to discuss your child, and to see if the services available are appropriate to meet your family’s needs. This call also gives you a chance to ask any questions you might have. After this initial consultation, if it appears that a client intake meeting or hourly consultation is reccommended for your family, a follow up appointment will be confirmed.
Following the initial phone consultation, clients will have the opportunity to schedule a client intake meeting if deemed appropriate. Prior to the intake meeting, Edith will complete a comprehensive file review of all documents about your child. Afterwards, you and Edith will discuss next steps for you to consider when working with your child’s school placement. This meeting will also determine if continued services through ongoing consultation and monitoring are necessary.

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
An educational consultant serves as an advisor for parents to support ongoing relationships between home and school. Our goal is to empower families to work in collaboration with their child’s academic placements, and to create meaningful and impactful partnerships for success.
While we can step in to help a family at any point in their planning journey, the best time to contact us is when you want to support your child, struggling or not, in meeting their academic goals. Most families reach out when they begin to see their child struggling in school, when they are considering professional assessment for special education needs, or right after receiving a diagnosis or referral for an IEP. Transition to high school or college is also a good time to connect.
How your child will be involved is up to you. Typically, most families prefer to not have their child present for initial information gathering or intake meetings. Older children may be invited to parts of follow up meetings, especially when held with school staff.
